May 2012 Elementary Newsletter We made it, the last month of school! This Friday, May 4th is a school holiday. Enjoy your three day weekend. May 7th through May 11th is Teacher Appreciation week. The PTO is providing lunch to all our teachers on Friday. We have the best teachers and they have worked hard this year. Take time to thank your teacher this week. I want to thank all of you that joined PTO. It is exciting to have the support of our families. A lot of you have questions about if your student will qualify for Tier 1 release. We are waiting until progress reports go home on the 2nd , then pulling grades, attendance, and other data to determine who qualifies. You will officially be notified on Tuesday, May 8th. I will send out an email and send home a paper copy for each student. If you haven’t heard by the 9th, you are welcome to call me. You can also find the qualifications in the handbook on pages 15-16. May 8th, our fifth graders will be going to the Jack County fair grounds for Progressive Ag Day. On Friday May 9th, the Lion’s Club is hosting our Health Fair and PreK registration. This is open to the public and will begin at 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Come learn ways to be safe and sign up for PreK! May 14th through the 16th, our fifth graders are once again going to Camp Grady Spruce. What a wonderful hands on experience that ties together so many things that they have learned. Thank you for your support to make this happen for all of our students. This year, 5th graders raised the entire amount of the trip on their own. They are going to be great leaders at the secondary campus. I also want to thank all of you for your support and kindness shown to me. Due to the economy, we were not able to move to Bryson and I will not be returning next year. The drive is too much on my faith, my family, and my health. I know God has a plan for me and that he has great plans for Bryson. I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Thank you for sharing your students with me. You have touched my life, bless you!
