  Bryson Elementary Newsletter

September 2010

Dear Parents/Guardians,

What a great start to our new school year, and I am so excited to be a part of the Bryson family.  We have new students and new staff members that are joining our family.  We want to welcome our new 4th grade teacher Mrs. Helms, and her family to Bryson.   Our current enrollment in the elementary is 94 students in grades PK-5th.  Our fabulous teachers have been working literally through the summer to help make this year exciting and successful for your student.

Our motto this year is “No Excuses, Only My Best, Everyone, Everyday.”   Everyone here at Bryson ISD is committed to giving our best every day.  We also have high expectations for all students.  We believe with your support, good curriculum, and our staff that all students can be successful and should strive to go to college.  Each teacher has a college area in their room and they are discussing why we work so hard to reach our goals.   The answer is to go to college and become whatever we dream to be.  Please help foster this feeling by asking your student if they gave their best in their choices at school, their homework, speech, actions, and in all that they do each day.  We all make mistakes, but we learn from them and grow to get better.  That is part of giving our best. ....learning.

Every day we start our day in “Morning Roundup.”  We begin at 7:50 a.m. with the pledge, school song, moment of silence, birthday celebrations, perfect class attendance boots, and announcements.  Our school day ends with Pre-K letting out at 11:30 a.m., Kindergarten lets out at 3:20, and everyone else is dismissed at 3:30p.m. Thank you for your help in making pick up out on the east side so successful.  All students except for Pre-K should be picked up there.  If a student needs to change dismissal plans, please call the school or send a note with your child.  If you are signing a student out early, please make sure you sign them out so we have a record of them leaving.  This is a safety measure, and due to the news lately we know you can appreciate our concern in the safe release of students at Bryson.

Lastly, anytime information from me is sent home, it will be printed on yellow paper.  Hopefully this will make it easier to distinguish between other papers which go home.

Please feel free to call or come by my office if you have any questions or concerns.

Reminder: No school Monday, September 6th due to Labor Day.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ferrell, Elementary Principal
