For School Web Page Publication:
- There is a "shared" directory on the server for teachers to use--all teachers
can view all that is put there. If you create your beginning web folder in this
directory (something logical would be great--i.e. 4thWebPage), then when you have
finished all I would need to do would be to copy this file to our web server and create
special links on our school page for your class/project.

Beginning:
- Open Netscape Communicator
- From the menu choose Communicator/Composer (this will open up a blank web page to
create)
- Type whatever it is that you are wanting to.
- If you are wanting to insert pictures, either click on the image icon or go to
insert/image and choose your file. (Remember: Anything that you will be adding
to your page, other than text (i.e.--pictures/backgrounds, animated gifs, etc.) all need
to be in the folder you created before beginning.)

Targets & Links:
Targets are used to link words/phrases to a specific area on a page
Links are used to take the viewer to another area
Target Example: The areas in the top table are linked to the specific targets
on this page (i.e.--HINTS, Beginning, etc.)
Link Example: If you had several pages that you wanted to be able to go to,
you would link these (i.e.--Creating a Web Page and Class Projects)
Target
- Select the area you want to be the target
- Click on the Target icon
- Select a name for this target area (it can be the name given), OK
A target is now placed in front of the area selected (but will not show when
previewing)
- Select the area you want to serve as the link to the targeted area
- Click on the Link icon
- The bottom area of the box will show targets to choose from on the current page (or you
could link to another target on another page, you just need to specify)
- Click on the target you want to link to, OK
Link
- Make sure you have saved your page in order to link back to it
- Select what you want to be able to click on to be your link
- Click the Link icon
- Enter your link source (or choose your file), OK
top
Saving Your Page:
- File/Save As
- Navigate to the special folder you created before beginning to save to
