Bryson Media Library
The Bryson Media Library has been updated the past couple of years and is now almost
complete.
Our library uses the latest technology to check in and out books. The library has two IBM computers to keep book records on. To check out a book, the computer uses the program, Athena, to keep the records. Every book has a barcode, and you scan the barcode under the student's ID number. When you scan the book, it goes under the students record. You have two weeks to re-check or check in your book.
If a student has trouble finding a book, there are two more IBM computers with search programs where you type in the name, the name of the author, or the type of book. These search programs will then search and find the book and tell you where it is located.
The variety of the books in the library is very large. We have Non-Fiction, Fiction, Accelerated Reader, and many informative books. Most of the books read are those that are Accelerated Reader. All students are required to read a certain standard of books based on his/her abilities. The student then takes the Accelerated Reader test over his/her book.
The Bryson Media Library is headed up by Mrs. Lowe.
